BOLD PAINTED WALLS
Walls painted in bright reds, blues, greens and any earthy tone in fact, contributes massively to the bohemian look. Layering is key. Cover the expanse of these bright and bold walls, with lots and lots of art. Different shapes and sizes of art all arranged together in a somewhat organised fashion works like a charm!
MAGICAL LIGHTING
The boho-chic style calls for a lot of vintage lighting elements. Table lamps are an absolute must. As mentioned earlier, add some fringes to your lampshades. Moroccan pendants and vintage lights also transform your space. Hang multiple different shapes and sizes of these lights over your dining table to totally nail the boho-chic style!
FRILLS & TASSELS
Frills and tassels have the capacity to spell boho-chic like no other element of design! Your cushions need to have frills, as do your vintage table lamp shades. The carpets on your floor, definitely need to have tassels, as do your curtain ties. Stick to natural fabrics like burlaps, cottons linens and silks for all your soft furnishings, but finish them with these special embellishments!
BOLD PRINTS & PATTERNS
Suzani prints and Ikat prints need are the in-thing. They need to be present in different colours, patterns and textures. It is in this chaos of patterns and prints that you can really achieve the boho-chic style. Picture an old white couch, with tons and tons of patterned cushions. Be sure to mix and match both prints and colours.
ANTIQUE KILIMS
Old Kilims really enhance the bohemian style. This is one style, where you can use something old and ragged and get away with it! Of course, it should not be too ragged! You can layer multiple kilims on the floor, but keep the rest of your furniture simple. They even look great on the walls and these kilims make absolutely fabulous art!
