Dire Straits to perform in India

The fans of 80s rock music would surely remember listening to amazing songs like Romeo and Juliet, Sultans of Swing and Brothers In Arms. These numbers were sung by the popular band Dire Straits and keeping the trend of popular retro international rock bands coming over to perform in the country; the band is set to perform in Gurgaon and Bengaluru in March.

The one-of-a-kind event will feature original Dire Straits band mates Chris White and Chris Whitten, supported in the lead by Terence Reis. They will be recreating the magic of 80s. However, the most popular band member Mark Knopfler, who exited the band in 1995, will not be joining them. Since the news was out, social media has been abuzz and netizens have been sharing the news and the popular songs of the band on Internet. This tour is part of an initiative to help in building water conservation structures in villages in Rajasthan. This will ensure that the people there have clean water and improved irrigation.
