With a three-act production of Johann Strauss Jr’s German operetta, Die Flaudermas, and a genre-bending adaptation of Nala Damayanthi, the evening was testimony to the innovative spirit of the music school.

Apart from this, each of the KM’s international vocal faculty presented a dramatised scene with their students in the western operatic tradition.

The productions were punctuated with ghazals, contemporary dance, and Sufi poems with operatic interludes.

The gala event was also attended by KM’s founder AR Rahman who was accompanied by director Shankar.
