With the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2021, the parties are in a spree to add glamour in order to attract the vote bank. Recently, BJP had appointed actors Namitha and Radha Ravi as State-level functionaries but it’s an effort to bring in bigger names had not been successful so far. But it has not given up hopes, apparently approaching some of the noted names in Tamil film industry to join it ahead of elections.

A day after actor-producer Vishal Krishna spoke in support of Kangana Ranaut in her battle against Mumbai Corporation, speculations were rife that he is on the way to join the Centre-ruling party ahead of the upcoming Assembly election.

Accordingly, after the tweet by Vishal, it was speculated that the actor might join the BJP camp this morning (September 13) and has even asked for an appointment with the Tamil Nadu BJP leader L Murugan regarding the same.

Apparently, the actor's manager Hari has denied the rumours about the actor joining any party or asking for an appointment to any state leader on the same.

Vishal is not unfamiliar with scraps, having locked horns with the influential section of Nadigar Sangam and Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council – and even the State government – when he was helming the two associations.

Actor Vishal is also not new to politics. Even though he hasn't joined any political parties or represented them for the election campaign, he had attempted his stint in the famous RK Nagar election, which was held in 2017. However, Vishal's candidature was rejected by the EO, as his candidature had not been proposed by 10 candidates, which is mandatory to propose a candidate for elections.
