Question paper leak: Two arrested remanded to 10 day CID custody

Two more persons arrested in connection with PU II Chemistry question paper leak in Karnataka, were remanded to CID custody for ten days by First ACMM court today

The arrested -- Anil Kumar and Satish, who are Physical Education Teachers in Government PU College and Poornaprajna College, respectively, were nabbed yesterday following information provided by Obalaraju, Personal Assistant to Minister for Medical College Sharanprakash Patil, who was involved in the scam and was arrested by the police earlier.

CID police have intensified search to nab the kingpin of the scam identified as Shivakumar alias Shivakumar Swami, who after working as Lecturer for over two decades, was involved in question paper scams since 2008. He was believed to have been hiding in Kerala, sources said.

CID Yesterday raided his house at Nandini Layout in the city and seized incriminating documents, some question papers, answer scripts and sim cards, while questioning of more than 25 employees of Examination Wing of the PU Department is continuing.

The members of the specially formed teams are interrogating Lecturers working in Private Tutorials as the arrested Obalaraju, Majunath and Rudrappa have revealed about their involvement in selling the question papers to students and parents.

Sources said top officials including an IPS officer were allegedly involved in the scam, which was said to have been going on since last two decades.
