Sreesanth, who arrived with party workers, submitted his nomination papers before the Electoral Officer at the District Collectorate Office here.
BJP President Amit Shah had played a key role in getting Sreesanth inducted into the party and fielding him in a constituency, which the BJP expects to romp home convincingly.
Though the cricketer had expressed his keenness to contest from Tripunithura, the party asked him to contest from Thiruvananthapuram.
