Going Viral: Aishwarya Rai’s purple lips break the Internet

Known for her adherence to safe choices, Ash surprised all by sporting wearing a lavender-blue lip with her flower-strewn Rami Kadi dress for the screening of her film Sarbjit on Sunday. While some loved it, most had a joke on the subject. 

Twitter had a field day as one Twitterati said, ‘Did Aishwarya kiss a smurf this time before she walked the red carpet at Cannes?’. Another put forth, ‘Aishwarya’s lips look like she had kala khatta gola’ and yet another Twitterati joked, ‘When Asian Paints sponsors your lipstick.’ The actor, however, was unfazed and said, “I am an actor by my career choice. I enjoy fashion and I treat it like art and I have a life, a family. 

So, I am not focusing on all of this. So it (look) doesn’t stress me out. It doesn’t get me nervous. I am a professional.” For the press conference of the film earlier in the day, she picked a golden-brown ensemble by ace Indian fashion designer Rohit Bal for the gala. This is Aishwarya’s 15th year at the festival.
