"I continued my indefinite fast in the hospital during the illegal detention by the Madhya Pradesh Government. I took neither water nor food," said Ms Patkar while talking to media later.
She said she was staging an indefinite fast along with 12 other supporters seeking proper rehabilitation of those being displaced by the Sardar Sarovar Project. No initiative was taken either by the state regime or the Centre for engaging in dialogue or resolving the deadlock.
"We received a message on the Chief Minister's behalf for ending fast and that a discussion would take place thereupon. While we persisted on our demands and refused to end our fast, we were removed from the agitation site forcefully," said Ms Patkar.
Meanwhile, Indore Collector Nishant Warwade confirmed that Ms Patkar was released from the hospital.
