Train service remains suspended in Kashmir
Train service remained suspended for security reasons for the second consecutive day on Wednesday in the Kashmir valley, where separatists had called for a general strike against killing of two people, including a woman, in alleged security force firing during the past three days.

Train service was suspended yesterday on Badgam-Srinagar in central Kashmir to Anantnag-Qazigund in south to Banihal in Jammu region following killing of two Jaish-e Mohammad (JeM) militants in an encounter with security forces in Shopian.
However, service from Srinagar-Badgam in the central Kashmir to Baramulla in north operated normally.
"Today we suspended all train-runs in the Kashmir valley for security reasons following advisory from police," a railway official told UNI.
He said all trains from Badgam-Srinagar to Banihal in Jammu region remain suspended for the second day today.
Similarly, no train will chug on Srinagar-Badgam and Baramulla track today, he added.
This is the 49th time when train service has been suspended partially or fully this year in the valley.
Majority people, going to Jammu or returning to Kashmir prefer train journey between Banihal to Srinagar.
The " Joint Resistance Leadership", consisting of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq and Mohammad Yaseen Malik had called for a general strike today against the killing of a driver in Kupwara and a woman in Shopian in alleged security force firing. However, security force claimed both the people were killed during encounters between militants and security forces. The authorities have already ordered a magisterial probe in the killing of driver.
