Sarita appeared before a court here, which was hearing a cheating case in which she allegedly duped investors to the tune of Rs 32 lakh.

Speaking to reporters, she said, “The inquiry commission probing into the role of Chandy in the solar scam has submitted its report to the government. The cyber-crime police in Thiruvananthapuram have registered fresh cases of cheating against Chandy and 19 others. As hearing is likely to commence next week, I will also appear and depose against him,” she said.

She further stated, “I am confident that Chandy, besides other former ministers and MLAs, who were involved in the scam, will be punished.” The solar scam led to the downfall of the Congress led Oommen Chandy government in Kerala.

The Coimbatore district crime branch police registered a case against Saritha Nair and few others, after she failed to supply windmill equipment despite receiving money from industrialists. The court has postponed the hearing on this case to March 20.
