Old man dies after being hit by police vehicle in north Kashmir
An elderly person died after being hit by a police vehicle in this north Kashmir district on Wednesday night during a search operation, evoking massive protests.

Authorities have suspended train service in north Kashmir from Srinagar to Baramulla for security reasons following protests last night.
Official sources said that a team of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police had gone to Delina to arrest some persons last night. However, locals immediately hit the streets and protested against the police action.
The demonstrators pelted stones, they said, adding that while leaving the place, police personnel fired several rounds in the air to disperse them.
However, a police Rashak vehicle hit a 60-year-old Abdu Aziz Ahangar, they said, adding that the injured was immediately rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Later, massive protests erupted in the area after people from nearby areas joined them. Protests continued till late in the night.
The authorities suspended train service in north Kashmir as a precautionary measure. However, train service resumed in south Kashmir after remaining suspended for three days for security reasons.
