Kerala Flood: Jipmer to send medical team, donates day’s pay
The employees of the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) on Saturday announced the contribution of one-day salary of its employees towards Kerala Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

According to a Jipmer’s statement, it reaches out to Kerala in its time of unprecedented floods and sufferings. A Jipmer Flood and Disaster Relief Task Force have been set up on August 17.
A 34 member medical team led by Prof Jagdish Menon, Orthopedics Professor, will leave for Kerala on Sunday. The team will coordinate with the local health authorities in the severely affected district of Wayanad.
A Jipmer Stress Helpline is activated for anyone directly or indirectly affected by the natural calamity in Kerala and needs a listening ear and will operate 24 hours.
It will offer counseling and support in Malayalam for mental health issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety and suicidal ideas. The faculty, students and employees of Jipmer are also arranging for Flood Relief Kits to be distributed among the affected people.
