Mother of two, down with depression, ends life

She set herself ablaze on November 26 and was admitted to the government general hospital here with severe burns. But, she died.

According to police, Lakshmi, mother of two girl children, was suffering from depression and made several attempts to end her life earlier.

A 55-year-old woman was killed and her husband suffered serious injuries in a road accident here. According to police, Govindaraj (60) of Vandavasi with his wife Banu (55) went to Cuddalore to visit their daughter. While returning to Vandavasi on their motorcycle a lorry hit their bike and both of them were thrown off the vehicle. They were rushed to the government hospital where Banu was declared brought dead.
