Mind, Body & Soul: ‘With no purpose, there’s no success and no celebration’

Think of the last time you celebrated a success. Whose success was it? A near and dear one’s? An actor’s success at the box-office or your favourite cricketer scoring a century? Ask yourself, are you celebrating your own success or somebody else’s?

Most people celebrate someone else’s success as their own. But in reality your success alone is your success; other’s success is only a source of momentary happiness. For real success you need a clear purpose. With no purpose, there’s no success and no celebration.

A purpose needn’t be the goal of vast riches and fame but it is the absolute clarity of the specific end result you want as an experience. When there is no purpose, people tend to confuse their actions with the end result.

In reality, life does not need a purpose, but without a purpose the human mind does not have the ability to focus. Without a purpose, the mind will waste your energy and time on thinking how to avoid future pain and problems or how to cope with existing pain and problems or analyse pain and problems of the past.

Without a purpose the mind works only with human intelligence but with a clear purpose the mind begins to work out of divine intuition. This ensures a huge shift; you will no longer be an analyst analysing what has or will go wrong. Instead you will be a catalyst for your own success and progress.

When you have a clear purpose and focus you will not rely on anyone anymore. With divine intuition you realise; even your closest relations and friends can only be a source of advice or interference at the most. The divine alone can be a real source of support and guid ance and all you need to achieve your purpose.

This example explains it beautifully. For a GPS system to work, the basic need is fixing a destination. Without the destination it cannot guide you anywhere. It isn’t incapable, but this is a fundamental need for the GPS to work. Having a purpose for yourself works exactly in the same way.

Look at successful people around. They aren’t people with extraordinary power; just ordinary people with extraordinary focus. With focus, you need not search for success, success will come in search of you. It is a divine law; irrespective of what you have been doing all along; what you are doing and preparing to do in future with a purpose is what will ensure you not just a future but a future of unfailing fortune. Bless you all with ever growing and never-ending peace, success and happiness. Aham Brahmasmi!!
