The power of positive thoughts

It is the divine truth that our thoughts shape our reality. Knowingly or unknowingly, we continually create our lives based not just on what we think about but also how we think.

The power of positive thoughts

So, irrespective of the current situation, it is important that one channel himself towards the right thoughts so as to get the desired experiences and outcomes.

The first step here is to be aware of the kinds of thoughts one has. If you recall, I had discussed the PET and NET concept some time ago. Positive Emotional Thoughts or Progressive and Elevating Thoughts (PET) and Negative Emotional Thoughts (NET) or non-essential thoughts. With positive and progressive thinking, you will realise solutions seek you and progress is effortless. Positive thoughts also keep the mind and body healthy. Whereas negative thoughts restrict both your talent and opportunities. It is therefore of utmost importance first to be conscious of your thoughts.

You might ask, ‘But how is it possible to think positive all the time? Negative thoughts keep coming to mind’. Well, that’s human nature and not under one’s control. However, how one deals with the negative or non-essential thoughts is under one’s control. Let me illustrate this with an example.

You go to the supermarket and you see aisles and aisles of merchandise. There is everything there; from organic grains and fresh vegetables to aerated drinks and cigarettes. Everything is displayed for you to make a choice. At the candy counter or for anything you do not need; you will see the goods but move on without putting them in your basket. They are not yours until you choose to put them in your basket. They are still there, but they are not yours and have no impact on you. Same is the case with thoughts. Negative thoughts are yours only if you decide to put them in your basket. Negative thoughts exist, but can have no impact on a person unless you decide to dwell on them, by investing your time and emotions. A negative thought will only affect you if you choose to entertain it.

Being conscious of one’s thoughts helps identify a non-essential thought. No matter what a person’s situation, one can then make a conscious effort to replace it with a positive or progressive thought. This will instantaneously have two results. The effects of a negative thought on the body are normalized and the mind is able to express one’s knowledge and new ideas flow effortlessly.

Knowing how powerful our thoughts are, it is one’s responsibility to make it a conscious habit to choose to think positively and progressively and divine has to bless you with peace, health and prosperity.
