Former left-arm spinner Boje, who has already completed the Berlin Marathon, will be off for a month from his job as head coach of the provincial side Knights and will also feature in the Masters Champions League in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament, which features ex-international players, takes place from January 28 to February 13 next year.
Meanwhile former Proteas speedster and ex-bowling coach of the national team Allan Donald will take over Boje's duties at the Knights till the time the southpaw is away.
Boje on the other hand believes that he still has a lot of cricket left in him and also shared his ambition of running marathons with his wife Anel.
Boje, once a wanted man in India for his alleged role in the 2000 match fixing scandal that precipitated the biggest crisis in international cricket and the end for Proteas captain Hansie Cronje, was later cleared after submitting to questioning by Indian investigators.
He was also left out of subsequent tours to India and announced his retirement from international cricket on the eve of the tour to India in 2006.
