Schools Premier League from today
The second edition of the Schools Premier League football tournament will kickoff on Thursday with MCC Hr. Sec. School locking horns with Vana Vani School at the MCC School here. Indian Super League champions Chennaiyin FC have been roped in as the partners.

The league will see 16 schools in Chennai vie for the top honours. The schools are divided into two groups and the top two in each group will progress to the semi-finals. The matches will be played at the MCC School and Don Bosco School ground in Perambur.
The matches will start at 3 pm and four matches will be played in a day. The final will be played between March 12 to 15. The best performers in the league will be selected for Chennaiyin FC’s Centre of Excellence programme, a part of the ISL champions’ grassroots initiative. Chennaiyin FC assistant coach and technical director Syed Sabir Pasha will be in charge of shortlisting the best talent.
