Integral Coach Factory (ICF) beat Globe Trotters Sports Club by one wicket and two balls to spare in a thrilling low-scoring match in the TNCA Take Solutions Ashok Kumbhat T20 trophy at MRF Pachaiappa’s ground here on Friday.

Batting first Globe Trotters folded for 99 with D.R. Anbu Ezhl picking up three wickets for ICF. Chasing, ICF crossed the finish line in the last over when Prasanth Chandran bowled gifted four wides.

Top-seed G. Varun of MVM beat K. Navaneeth of MDX 11-5, 11-7, 11-9 to enter the pre-quarterfinals of the Indian Oil first state ranking table tennis tournament here on Friday.
In other gruelling matches, Mohana Viswam of RTTA had to sweat it over five sets to beat clubmate S. Sandeep Krishna 9-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-3, 11-6 to emerge victorious.
K. Harish of MVM too had to face an arduous challenge from KTTC’s Hari Vignesh but prevailed 8-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-8, 11-5 in the end.
