Electing to bat, Kaalai started on a disastrous note, losing three wickets for 39 runs before captain Badrinath steadied the ship with 27 off 34 balls. But leg-spinner M Ashwin, who had already picked up a wicket (Vishal Vaidya) with a hit-wicket, added the rival captain to his kitty when he had him caught and bowled leaving Kaalai at 69 for four.

It was left to S Anirudha to steer his team to a respectable total after that. He made 36 off 29 balls and helped Kaalai reach 125 for 9 in their 20 overs. Natarajan (4-21) and M Ashwin (3-30) were the main bowlers for Dragons.

Dragons struggled in the beginning losing two wickets but Ganga Sridhar Raju (56 not out) and Wilkins Victor (50) added 89 runs in nine overs to stay ahead. Dindigul Dragons comfortably reached the target in 16.3 overs.
