BCCI should stop funds to state cricket boards: Supreme Court
The Supreme Court asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) not to disburse funds to state bodies till they file affidavits that they would abide by the Lodha panel’s recommendations.

The apex court asked the 13 state bodies not to spent the Rs16.72 crore disbursed each of them till they file affidavit on reforms.
The court also directed BCCI president Anurag Thakur to file a personal affidavit on his communication with the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the Lodha panel’s recommendations.
The court had given the BCCI one day to accept the sweeping changes suggested by the court-appointed panel to clean up administration of India’s most popular sport.
The court had warned that it would pass an order freezing BCCI’s funds and seek back money it had disbursed to state associations if the board did not heed the order.
A committee led by former chief justice R.M. Lodha has recommended a shake-up of the country’s most powerful, and richest, sports body.
In July, the court gave the BCCI six months to implement the changes, some of which the board has resisted.
