West Indies were bundled out for 131 and, after struggling initially, India croseed the finish line with 10.5 overs to spare, with the chase spearheaded by Veda Krishnamurthy (52* in 70 balls) and skipper Mithali Raj (46* in 91 balls).

After winning the toss and batting first, West Indies were coasting along at 42/1 when the left-arm spin duo of Rajeshwari Gayakwad (4/21) and Ekta Bisht (3/14) started making inroads. Bisht triggered a collapse, picking up three wickets in quick succession while Gayakwad supported her teammate well from the other end.

Merissa Aguilleira (42*) was the only notable performance in the visitors’ scorecard.  Chasing, India slumped to 36/4 but it was Mithali and Veda who were the difference between the two sides. Brief scores: West Indies 131 in 42.4 overs (Merissa Aguilleira 42*; Rajeshwari Gayakwad 4/21, Ekta Bisht 3/14) lost to India 133/4 in 39.1 overs (Veda Krishnamurthy 52*, Mithali Raj 46*).
