Jerry Lalrinzuala scores Chennaiyin FC?s first goal against FC Goa

With this, FC Goa finished on 18 points while Chennaiyin remained on 15 points. The first goal came as early as the fourth minute when a brilliant free kick by Jerry Lalrinzuala put Chennaiyin FC in the lead. Their joy was short-lived though as a couple of minutes later, Rafael Luiz scored the equaliser. From there on, it was more like a boxing bout with both teams exchanging punches. An own goal conceded by Gregory Arnolin allowed Chennai to retake the lead in the 14th minute. It was nullified once more in the 21st minute when Joffre Gonzalez converted a penalty. With the scores level at 2-2, a defensive lapse by FC Goa handed a chance to Omagbemi, who earned the third goal for his side. It was an out and out poor defensive game from both teams. Tavora (68th) and Luiz (76th added a goal each for Goa in the second half.. John Riise saved Chennaiyin’s face when he scored from a penalty in the 88th minute. Then Goa  scored the match-winner through Tavora in stoppage time.
