BPCL mauls Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu

Kawaljit Singh put the visitors ahead in the 53rd minute thorugh a field goal. Seventeen minutes later, Sher Singh added a second goal to seal the host team’s fate. In the second match, Army XI and Hockey Odisha were involved in a 4-4 draw in a pulsating  encounter.

The Odisha team played its heart out against Army after trailing 0-3 in the first 32 minutes. Field goals by Siraju AP in the 19th minute, Binay Bhengra in the 29th minute and Anselm Hemrom in the 32nd minute pointed to a rout of Odisha but that was not to be. 

Crril Lugun (42nd minute) and Sanjay Xalxo (45th minute) reduced the lead to 3-2 and when Amit Chirmako scored in the 56th minute, the scores were level. However, Army bounced back from the onslaught and scored through BB Machaiah in the 60 minute. However, Sibran Lakra equalised in the 66th minute.
