Don Bosco Seniors, Juniors win in RFYS football

The Don Bosco Senior Boys eked out a 5-4 victory in the penalty shootout over Government HSS, after both were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time. They, in fact, fell behind in the second minute itself, with Abdul Razauk scoring the opening goal. 

Don Bosco restored parity only in the 34th minute, through a Nandha Kumar goal. The two teams failed to break the deadlock in the remaining time, despite valiant attempts. In a tense battle thereafter, the Don Bosco seniors held on to their nerves to win the match 5-4. 

In the Junior Boys’ encounter, Don Bosco had it easy, scoring a 2-1 victory. They jumped ahead into the lead in the 13th minute, via an A Joel goal. Ranjith Kumar of Government HSS, however, brought his side back into the match in the 38th minute. Parasuram scored the winner in the 40th minute.
