Government school girls make Vellore proud
A total of 10 girls, all students of state government schools in Sathuvachari and Alamelumangapuram, on the outskirts of Vellore, won various medals in the district level power lifting championship held at Sevur near Gudiyattam on Monday.

Sathuvachari is known for producing a good number of athletes in weightlifting, who have won many accolades.
However, it is the first time that an all girls team has won medals. The winners have been chosen to represent Tamil Nadu in the upcoming state power lifting championship, according to coach Yuvaraj.
