Shrikrishna won 599-56 when the one-hour second round match ended with the Tamil Nadu boy well on course with an unfinished break of 47. Trying to get to terms with the new table set and the new ball set, Shrikrishna was missing drop cannons and going out of position in top table play. And it took 26 minutes for the Tamil Nadu lad to get to his first century break.

“The century took me only six minutes with a mix of all round table play while grappling with the ball run,” said Shrikrishna after the match. Around the 45th minute, he compiled another useful break of 76, followed by a break of 80 in the 50th minute.

Gurudev of TN lost to Mehul Saini of Chandigarh 145-197 in another match.
