“I am not worried about his goal-scoring form. He worked exceptionally hard against FC Pune City but didn’t get the services he wanted from his teammates. I am sure he will start scoring goals once the season progresses. I am happy as long as my other players are scoring,” said the former Derby County manager.

Asked if CFC would be able to break its jinx against ATK at home, he added, “It is a huge club with rich history. There is a lot at stake as it the clash of the champions. Same was the case with NorthEast United FC (referring to not winning against it at JN Stadium, Chennai in the first three seasons) but we managed to beat it. We will see what happens against ATK.”

Commenting on the injury worries for the home side, he replied, “There are no injuries. All are fit, hungry and raring to go. I have got a dedicated bunch of 25 to choose from.”

On the other hand, ATK manager Teddy Sheringham said he would be happy with a point from Thursday’s encounter. “At the end of the season, if you pick up nine points on the road and collect the full quota of three at home, it should be good enough to take you through to the final four,” said the Englishman.
