Head coach John Gregory felt it was unlucky for the captain to be booked twice during the contest. "He made two tackles and he got yellows for both. I have seen a number of incidents this season where players make more than four challenges and get away with just one yellow card. In this case, Henrique's decision was very unfortunate," said Gregory in the post-match press conference.
Asked if Sereno's discipline on the pitch is a bit of a concern for the squad, the Briton said, "Definitely not. He has been a real inspiration for everybody in our football club. He has played like a captain every week. A defender is likely to get more yellow cards than attackers or midfielders. He will miss the next game but after that he will back wearing the captain's armband."
Gregory expressed his dissatisfaction on the individual errors the side made while conceding three goals. "We certainly did not start the game well. We made glaring mistakes in all the three goals we conceded which I don't usually expect from my players in those situations. It was frustrating to give away those."
The CFC coach heaped praise on his opposition for its intricate game-play, which has largely contributed to its position in the league standings. "It is a privilege to have a team like them in the ISL. They are a very difficult team to play against. They keep the ball and pass so well," added Gregory.
The Englishman asserted that his side would have come up trumps had it not made some blatant errors which cost it three valuable points.
"Bengaluru took advantage of the mistakes we made. We were in the game even when we were 1-2 down. I really thought we were the only team that was going to win the game after Francisco (Fernandes) equalised (in the 33rd minute)," he signed off.
