Shrikrishna to meet Varun in YMCA snooker final

Shrikrishna (Mylapore) overcame a stiff resistance from Aravind Kumar (RSPB) before winning 5-3 (64-23, 3597, 71-44, 78-01, 22-75, 63-31, 49-60, 7432). J Varun Kumar(MCC) defeated Dilip Kumar (RSPB) 5-2 (63-43, 47-61, 44-51, 85-25, 53-36, 78-71, 54-27). 

Earlier, Dilip Kumar shocked Rafath Habib, one of the title contenders, to enter the semi-finals in the best-of-9 quarter-final match. 

Dilip kick-started with a break of 79 to win the first frame. Rafath, a former Asian Games gold medallist, took the second frame as he capitalised on the openings he got to level the score 1-1. Both the players were evenly poised in the third frame, which witnessed a good tactical game in the beginning. Dilip, with a good fortune, clinched the third frame. With Clever potting and a break of 53, Dilip won the fourth frame and followed it up with a break of 64 in the fifth, to clinch the match to storm into the semi-final.
