The Veerans were never in the contest with a huge score of 191 on the board. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals right from the start. Veerans skipper Aparajith started off well in a decent partnership with Vaidhya. But once Vaidhya went, the run rate slowed up. Subramania Siva did try to take the attack to the opposition with a couple of big overs to spare, but his knock of 33 runs from 18 balls was too little and too late.
On the bowling front, Tuti Patriots' spinners and Athisayaraj Davidson managed to restrict VB Kanchi Veerans for 143/9 in their innings.
Patriots' skipper led by example by playing a calculative knock, right throughout the innings. Tuti Patriots were off to a good start with Kaushik and Dinesh taking them to 63 runs. Kaushik was supported throughout the innings by his team.
Brief scores:
Kanchi Veerans 143/9 (Vaidhya 33, Siva 33; Sumra 2/23) lose to Tuti Patriots 191/3 (Gandhi 97*, Anand 37; Yadav 1/28)
