Speaking about his experience thus far in the state league, Ganesh Moorthi, a member of the title-winning team in Season 1, said, “Honestly, I was quite nervous during the first season (2016) when I was picked up by the Patriots. I got an opportunity to play alongside international cricketers like Dinesh Karthik, Abhinav Mukund and Lakshmipati Balaji and I learnt a lot from them. I have grown a lot as a cricketer since then.”
He had to put in a lot of hard work to transform him from a tennis ball cricketer to a professional one.
“I used to play volleyball in college. I then started participating in tennis-ball cricket tournaments and my passion for the game only kept growing.”
The left-arm spinner also expressed his admiration for India bowler Ravindra Jadeja during the interaction. “I love him a lot. He is the primary reason behind me bowling left-arm spin. I love the way he fields and bowls, he is always in the limelight no matter what he does,” he signed off.
