VB Kanchi Veerans registered their first win of the tournament today. Too late, but nevertheless a win is a win.

They made four changes in their playing XI and the youngsters have delivered the goods. They have defended a low score of 116 with ease. Srinivas started it all for Kanchi.

The left-arm spinners accounted for both the openers in the same over and the Kings were reduced to 20/3 in the fifth over. Ashwin Venkataraman was the only one to get into the 30s, but there was hardly no support.

Lyca Kovai Kings bowlers dominated the first innings against the Kanchi Veerans by restricting them to 120 in 20 overs. Ajith Ram stood on top with the best figures 3/16 in his slot of four overs.

Struggled to get going after opting to bat, because the bowlers from Kovai were top-notch with their plans to keep the batsmen in check.

Aparajith tried his best, staying unbeaten on 41 till the end but couldn't kick on, hence the Veerans end up with a modest total of 116.

Brief Scores: Lyca Kovai kings 102/9 (Ashwin Venkataraman 35, Prasanth Rajesh 21; Aushik Srinivas 3/12) lose to VB Kanchi Veerans (116/8) by 14 runs
