Head was dismissed for 87 in Australia A’s second innings as the tourist remained at the crease for the majority of the penultimate day’s play. Australia A amassed a total of 292 in its second innings, before India A reached 2-63 at stumps and still requiring a further 199 for victory as it attempts to chase down 262 on the final day.

Head was the star of the Australia A innings, with the 24-year old finding the boundary on 13 occasions before he was bowled by off spinner Krishnappa Gowtham. The South Australian combined with Usman Khawaja (40) for a partnership of 81 early in Australia A’s innings and then had another half century partnership with Marnus Labuschagne (37) before being dismissed.

Michael Nesar (25), Chris Tremain (25) and Brendan Dogget (17 not out) added some much valuable runs late in Australia A’s innings, leaving the host with a little over a day to chase down the fourth innings target.

Mohammed Siraj backed up his impressive eight wicket haul for India A in Australia A’s first innings with another three scalps for the host in the second. Kuldeep Yadav (2-51) and Gowtham (2-53) chipped in with two wickets apiece.
