Tiruchy to host national tennis tournament from February 10

Named Kauvery Hospital – AITA National Series Tennis Tournament, the competition has so far received 64 entries in boys singles and 48 entries in girls singles. The association has also decided to host a doubles event for both boys and girls soon. According to TDTA President K Madhu, the top seed in boys singles is Bhatt Rudra Himendu of Gujarat while the highest-ranked player from Tamil Nadu is Pragathesh Shivashankar.

Sanjana Sirimalla of Telangana is the top seed in girls singles, with Kaavya Palani being the top-ranked player from Tamil Nadu. Lakshmi Prabha, seeded 10th and a native of Tiruchy, will also take part in girls singles. The tournament will be inaugurated by Kauvery Hospitals – Tiruchy Managing Director Manivannan on February 10 at the Union Club here.

The final will also be played at the above mentioned venue on February 15. Kauvery Hospitals Executive Director Senguttuvan will be the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony.
