The two teams are slated to take on each other in a four-match Test series later this year, wherein the second game would be a day-night contest. The 30-year-old, on Saturday, opened up about the prospect of facing Australia in a pink-ball Test, the quality of India’s pace attack, and how his life has changed due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

“Everyone is excited for the series between India and Australia as there would be a game to watch after a long time. Also, we would be playing against one of the toughest opponents out there,” said Bhuvneshwar. Known to his fans as ‘Bhuvi’, the pacer also noted that the conditions could be ‘challenging’. “It is going to be fun to play with the pink ball in Adelaide,” he added.

The ongoing pandemic has forced governments around the world to put everything on halt and focus on the well-being of its citizens. Hence, it is quite likely that the India team may also be asked to go under quarantine after landing in Australia as a precautionary measure.

However, Bhuvneshwar felt it might be a blessing in disguise as it would help the national squad to get acclimatised to the Australian conditions. “Yes, it (quarantine) will help for sure in preparing better for those conditions,” he said.

Fast bowlers like him, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav have taken giant leaps while making the pace attack of India look ominous to the opposition. Over the past two-three years, the pacers have taken the bulk of wickets and are often the ones whom skipper Virat Kohli relies on for a breakthrough at crucial junctures.

When asked whether the India bowling attack is the best in the world, Bhuvneshwar said, “I do not know whether it is the best or not, but it is very good for sure because of every individual’s ability.
