Officials review crop failure in Delta districts
Secretaries to various departments of the state government made a first-hand review of the crop failure in Delta region and asked the respective district administrations to report to the government about the impacts of present situation.

State Revenue Secretary and Monitoring Officer B Chandramohan who reviewed Nagapattinam fields on Tuesday said that the symptoms of vulnerability were becoming evident in the region. He later chaired a review meet at the district Collectorate in which officials from departments such as Agriculture, Revenue, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) and Public Works Department (PWD) participated. He further directed the authorities to be prepared to address any drought-like situation in the region.
According to sources, Chandramohan inquired about the condition of standing Samba crop with the agriculture department. District Collector S Palanisami, District Revenue Officer C Muthumari, Tahsildars and several other officials were present during the review meet. Similarly, in Ariyalur district, the Principal Secretary to the department of Municipal Admistration K Phanindra Reddy reviewed the crops such as cotton, maize and paddy and inquired the farmers about their loss. He also promised to get the suitable compensation to the farmers who have insured their crops. District Collector Saravanavel Raj, DRO (Incharge) Rangarajan and others accompanied him.
