Youth riding triples killed as rams car in Coimbatore
Three youth on a bike were killed when their vehicle rammed a car on the Codissia Road. Police said that the trio were in an inebriated condition and the vehicles involved in the accident were completely destroyed in the resulting fire.

The victims, T Suriyan (20) of Mallavadi in Krishnagiri district, M Elango (25) of TNHB quarters in Erode and V Kousik (20) of Kallakurichi in Villupuram district were friends. They graduated from the same college in the city this year. Inquiry revealed that Elango was a caterer and stayed in a room at Saravanampatti. Kosuik and Suriyan came to see Elango. It was learnt that the trio went to Elango’s house in Erode and were returning to his room through the Codissia Road. The Traffic Investigation Wing (TIW) East unit of the city police said that the bike belonged to Kousik and Elango was riding it. They veered to the right side of the road and rammed against the car. Both the vehicles caught fire in the incident and were completely destroyed before Fire and Rescue Service personnel rushed to the spot.
Elango and Suriyan died on the spot. Kousik was rushed to a nearby super specialty hospital, where he died around 4.30 am on Monday. C. Barath (26) of Dharmapuri, who was driving the car from Codissia to Avinashi escaped with minor injuries. Barath, who works in a private architecture firm, was on the way to a mall to pick up his friends who were watching a film. The police said that a case was registered against him and inquiry was underway. A police officer said that the mistake was on the part of the trio who got killed.
