Bedi adopts TN Palayam village

Bedi visited the village along with officials of various departments, local legislator RKR Anandaraman and made a formal announcement that Raj Nivas would adopt the village in association with the NCC. Puducherry chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industries, the Mahindra Holidays, Aravind Eye Hospital and a few other organisations had also come forward to take up developmental works in the village under the corporate social responsibility scheme. The model village scheme under which the village had been brought envisages creating a clean environment under the Swachch Bharath Abhiyan and would also be made an open defecation-free hamlet in one month.
