Going a step further, Raja brought a bull reared by him and let out it in the event. Hundreds of people witnessed the Manju Virattu in which several bulls were let out by the bull owners. Talking to mediapersons, Raja claimed that BJP always supports the conduct of jallikattu events. It is part of the tradition and culture of Tamils.
Understanding the sentiments of Tamil people, the BJP government at the Centre issued a notification removing bull from the list of performing animals on January 7, 2016, in a bid to pave way for holding jallikattu events. But, unfortunately the Supreme Court stayed the notification, he said Raja said he is ready to face legal action for participating in the Manju Virattu.
Jallikattu, Manju Virattu and Rekla Race events were held at a number of places in Madurai, Sivaganga, Thanjavur, Theni, Krishnagiri, Dindigul and Pudukottai districts of Tamil Nadu for the fourth consecutive day.
