He has installed a two-foot bust of the late President and has been performing puja according to Hindu tradition.

Inspired by the visionary Dr Abdul Kalam, K Pushparaj (38) commenced work on the 12-foot tall shrine three months back.

The two-foot-tall statue has been placed inside a five-foot granite structure. A temple tower has been raised over the statue and a kalasam has also been fixed above it.

Pushparaj has engraved Kalam’s words on the granite structure along with the signature of the late President. It says “Dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep.”

What is Pushparaj’s dream? He wants to own a Rs 1000 crore company.

Pushparaj had employed a temple architect and spent over Rs 1 lakh for this temple located at the entrance of his office in Thillai Nagar. Pujas were being done every Friday and prasadam distributed to visitors.

Pushparaj says that Kalam’s selfless service has raised him to the level of god. Hence, he wanted to build a temple in his memory. “People ask me how I can raise a temple for a man who was born a Muslim. I answer them that Kalam is our nation’s asset who cannot be confined to a particular religion,” Pushparaj said.
