Women are no different from men

As a female artist, I have luckily been treated with respect by one and all across my projects and I have opted out of projects, where I felt that I didn’t get due respect. I don’t feel women are any different from men and we, as women, must realise that. When we achieve something, we should not let others say or even ourselves think that we have achieved this despite being a woman. I wish all women a very Happy Women’s Day.

Time for women to speak up against discrimination

I have been working across industries for three decades now. I have met men who respect me and my work as well those who don’t. The latter never managed to break my pursuit for work. However, this year, I have decided not to observe Women’s Day because of a lot of disturbing things that women go through. Our society talks about freedom and gender equality. But I don’t think it is practised. A girl was murdered in a broad daylight at a railway station by a stalker, an actress was abducted in a car and numerous other incidents keep happening on a daily basis. Nothing seemed to have changed over the years. It is time for women to take control of their lives and speak up against any discrimination.

Every women is special in her own way

I recently did an International Women’s Day photoshoot, which deals with embracing your flaws and accepting yourself as you are. Nobody is perfect. This was very close to my heart and left a lasting impression. I have been embracing my flaws, of late and aim towards just being a better person. I feel each woman is special in her own way and needs to start accepting that. I wish all the women out there a very happy International Women’s Day.
