He said that the grievances of the farmers would be redressed only if they unite and organise nationwide protests targeting the BJP regime.
He accused the BJP of according priority to enforce a ban on cow slaughter across the country, than giving due importance to the crisis faced by the farmers. The TNCC chief said neither the Prime Minister nor his ministers were ready to meet the farmers from the state, who were protesting for nearly a month in the capital. Thirunavukkarasar also said the Parliamentarians from Tamil Nadu should collectively voice their views to mount pressure on the union government.
Stating that the BJP’s indifference should be construed as not a mere insult and injustice meted out to the farmers but to the whole Tamil Nadu, the TNCC chief said there could not be an anti-farmer activity as worse as Modi regime’s refusal to pay heed to TN farmers protests.
Thirunavukkarasar had along with his party vice president Rahul Gandhi earlier met and expressed solidarity with protesting farmers in the national capital.
