Addressing media persons here, he said, “The government led by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy is not stable and ministers and MLAs are issuing statements and acting as per their will and wish. If such a trend continues, the government will fall within two months.”
Taking a dig at Dindigul Srinivasan, Madhusudhanan, while accusing him of having committed treachery, recalled how he rose to the level of a forest minister.
Replying to questions on the merger talks between the two factions of the AIADMK, Madhusudhanan said, “Certain ministers are preventing the merger talks. If merger is the wish of the people and the cadre, it will definitely happen.”
Similarly, former chief minister O Panneerselvam made veiled attacks on Finance Minister D Jayakumar.
Panneerselvam said that he was the natural choice of former AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa, whenever the party was in trouble. He was made in-charge of the government when Jayalalithaa was in the hospital and was also made the chief minister after her death. “But, now Jayakumar has said he will forgo his finance minister post for me, if both the parties come together.”
“I was given the chief minster post by Jayalalithaa and I do not need a minister post from anyone else,” added Panneerselvam indicating that he was in no position to expect a post from someone like Jayakumar. “Lakhs of party cadre are with me,” Panneerselvam stressed.
Similarly, Natham Viswanathan, in a party meeting at Dindigul on Wednesday evening, had criticised Jayakumar and Dindigul Srinivasan and accused them of preventing the merger.
