Murali Rambha, SP of The Nilgiris, said that Sayan was shifted to the CMCH after obtaining consent from his relatives. Sayan was treated at a private hospital for 19 days after he met with an accident on April 29 while travelling from Pollachi to Thrissur in a car along with his wife and daughter. Their car rammed a lorry at Kannadi between Palakkad and Thrissur. Sayan suffered multiple injuries and fractures, while the other two were killed. He was treated at a private hospital and is said to have undergone a surgery for damaged liver and rib fracture.

Murali Rambha said that his condition was improving and that he would be interrogated by next week in connection with the Kodanad Estate case. On Thursday, a police personnel from Palakkad held an inquiry with him regarding the accident. CMCH dean in-charge Renganathan said that Sayan has been admitted to the ICU. “He will be given the same treatment that was being given to him in the private hospital,” Renganathan assured.

Refusing to comment about the nature of injuries, he said that Sayan would be treated by general medicine, orthopaedic and gastroenterology experts.

Sayan is one among the 11 accused in the sensational murder of watchman Om Bahadur of Kodanad Estate and the dacoity in the bungalow of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, in the early hours on April 24.
