‘Certificate in your palm’ service launched

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy on Monday launched a “certificate in your palm” service, in which the people can get various certificates from the government. All they had to do is to register their mobile numbers at the nearest e-seva centre and once the certificates are ready, they would get an intimation via SMS.

If they have a smartphone, the certificates would be sent to it directly. They can download the same whenever necessary, a release said.  

He also inaugurated an information and communication building for the Tamil Nadu government’s ELCOT (Electronics Corporation of TN) at Jagir Ammapalayam in Salem district. The building has come up at an estimated cost of Rs 19.72 crore and is meant to be rented out to private players engaged in software business, a release said. The 50,000 sq ft building in Salem will provide direct employment to 1,000 employees.

The Chief Minister also launched two Tamil software and handed over the keys to five government drivers of the state agricultural department at the secretariat.
