Earlier, on Saturday, Ottapidaram legislator R Sundararaj met Dinakaran and extended his support to him. Dinakaran too held consultations with his supporters in the city.

Reacting to the act of the MLAs, Madhusudanan said Finance Minister D Jayakumar’s utterances were only a drama and could not be believed. He reiterated former minister KP Munusamy’s demand to know what action the rival faction has planned to initiate against the legislators, who openly extend their support to Dinakaran, despite Jayakumar’s unequivocal statement that the party would have no truck with the deputy general secretary.

Meanwhile, AIADMK (PTA) leader and former chief minister O Panneerselvam claimed at a meeting in Tiruchy that all AIADMK cadre were with his faction. His supporters also reiterated that there was no shift in their stand of a merger till AIADMK (A) general secretary VK Sasikala and her family were totally ousted from the party.

Adding to the issue, MAD Peravai general secretary and former chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar, in a statement, said, “All party men knew that Jayalalithaa had sacked him for his betrayal of the party.”
