While replying to a question on MPs and bureaucrats misbehaving with airlines staff, the minister, on Tuesday, said that ‘National No Fly List’ will apply equally to all the citizens of India. On Air India cancelling non-vegetarian food in its domestic airline services, Sinha said the decision was taken to reduce costs and prevent food wastage.
“We have to look into how to operate Air India in as efficient a manner as possible. It is a welcome decision,” he said, adding, that the airline will decide its connectivity based on commercial viability.
Sinha said it could take some time before wi-fi could be provided at all airports and that the Ministry of Home Affairs was looking into the matter.
While there are only two international airlines connecting Coimbatore (Singapore and Sharjah), the minister expressed confidence that the industrial city will be on top of the priority list for airlines as they add more planes and pilots to their fleet.
