Fresh charges framed against Dinakaran in FERA case
The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, on Tuesday framed charges afresh against AIADMK (Amma) deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran in connection with the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA) violation case. In line with the July 24 High Court order, the Enforcement Directorate framed charges afresh against him.

Dinakaran appeared in person before the court. When Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate S Malarmathy read out the charges against him, he denied them. Later, the court adjourned the hearing to August 3.
It may be recalled that the Madras High Court had on July 24 set aside the charges framed against Dinakaran on April 19 and directed the trial court to redo it and complete the trial in three months.
Based on the the order, charges were framed against Dinakaran afresh on Tuesday in one of the cases. Dinakaran was facing two FERA cases in Egmore court.
