Hi-tech army ambulance ready for combat roles
The transfer of Authorized Holder of Sealed Particulars (AHSP) of Armoured Ambulance Tracked (AAT) vehicle from Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) to the Controllerate of Quality Assurance (Infantry Combat Vehicles) (CQA (ICV)) was held at CVRDE on Thursday.

Distinguished Scientist and Director, CVRDE handed over the AHSP transfer certificate to the Controller CQA (ICV) in a function held at CVRDE in which Lt Gen Shamsher Singh, DGQA, PK Srivatsava, Member/ AV, NM Kandaswamy, Officiating Addl. DGQA (CV), Senior GM HVF, Sr GM OFMK, Controller CQA (ICV) and many other dignitaries attended.
Armoured Ambulance Tracked Vehicle is designed for the speedy evacuation of battle field casualities with immediate medical care to the nearest hospital. It is equipped with latest medical equipment like defibrillator, cardiac monitor, ventilator, suction apparatus, etc and fitted with environment control system for cooling and heating in summer and winter.
AAT could evacuate 4 structure patients or 2 structure patients and 4 sitting patients or 8 sitting patients at a time. Two medical attendants are seated in the vehicle to take care of the patients.
AAT can operate in all extreme terrains, it has armour protection, ability to cross all obstacles and is an amphibian, a defence release here said.
