Two drown in pond in Kovai

The incident occurred when a five-member group of boys, all aged 17 and doing their plus-two, had gone to take bath in the dam attached to the Siruvani river.

As they saw them drowning, the other three boys shouted for help but before the locals could reach the spot, both drowned, police said.

Fire and rescue personnel and police managed to recover one body, they said, adding, search is on to trace the other.
